RRW Chipiri Fellowship Visits the Munjoma Family to Comfort the Bereaved

The Chipiri Fellowship visited the Munjoma residence to comfort the bereaved family following the passing of Mr. Munjoma. The visit was a moment of Christian love, encouragement, and prayer as members stood with the family during their time of grief.

The service was led by Mrs. Esau as the preacher, while Mrs. Lary served as the liturgist. The congregation opened the service by singing Hymn 180, followed by a Scripture reading from Matthew 8:23–27, which recounts Jesus calming the storm.

In her sermon, Mrs. Esau acknowledged that the pain of death is never easy to bear, but reminded everyone that Jesus is the One who brings true comfort. Drawing from the biblical account, she explained that although the disciples were with Jesus, they still encountered a violent storm. The storm became so fierce that they felt helpless until they turned to Jesus.

She compared this to the loss experienced by the Munjoma family. Just as a storm can uproot trees, destroy homes, and carry away roofs and livestock, the death of a loved one shakes the very foundation of a family. A father often serves as the anchor of the home, and when he is gone, many questions arise, including why every possible effort, even seeking specialist medical care, could not prevent the loss.

The preacher encouraged the family not to spend their energy searching for someone to blame, but rather to seek Jesus. She reminded everyone that grief often brings overwhelming thoughts and emotional storms, but Christ remains present even when He seems silent. The answer is to call upon Him, for He alone has the power to calm every storm.

Mrs. Esau also urged mothers to leave behind a legacy of peace and love for their children rather than unresolved conflicts or burdens that increase pain after their departure. She emphasized that Christians should always strive to leave their families united.

Using a powerful illustration, she explained that a bereaved person can sometimes feel like a goatskin after the meat has been removed—handled by everyone and vulnerable to many pressures. She encouraged the family not to become discouraged or offended during such times, but to remain steadfast in prayer and never stop trusting God.

The visit concluded with prayers of comfort and encouragement, reminding the Munjoma family that although storms are inevitable in life, Jesus Christ remains the Master of every storm and is able to bring peace to every troubled heart.
