Worship

The United Methodist Worship Committee works in partnership with the pastor and music leaders to coordinate, resource, and enhance the congregation’s worship life. While the appointed pastor holds ultimate responsibility for worship, the committee recruits volunteers, manages logistical details, and ensures the service reflects historic traditions and community needs.

Key functions of the committee include:

Worship Planning & Coordination:

Collaborating with the pastor to plan weekly services and special seasonal services (e.g., Advent, Christmas, Lent, Easter)

Recruiting & Training Volunteers: Organizing and preparing lay volunteers, including ushers, greeters, liturgists, acolytes, and communion servers.

Altar Care:

Assisting with the setup of Holy Communion, maintaining candles, and changing liturgical altar cloths (paraments) to match the Christian calendar

Logistics & Administration:

Printing bulletins, maintaining attendance records, and managing the church’s sound and multimedia systems

Environment:

Decorating the sanctuary space for different seasons, arranging flowers, and managing seasonal elements like Advent wreaths.

Budgeting:

Preparing and managing the annual budget for worship-related materials, music, and equipment.
