Junior Sunday School

The primary function of the United Methodist Junior Sunday School is to nurture children as disciples of Jesus Christ. It focuses on building biblical literacy, teaching core Christian values, fostering church community, and helping children experience God’s unconditional love in a safe, age-appropriate environment.

The ministry serves several core functions in the spiritual development of young children:

Spiritual Formation & Faith Development:

It introduces children to the stories of the Bible and core Methodist doctrines (like grace, love, and service), laying a foundation for a lifelong relationship with God

Character Building:

Lessons emphasize applying God’s teachings to daily life, focusing on virtues such as kindness, forgiveness, generosity, and resolving conflicts peacefully

Community & Fellowship:

It creates a space for children to build relationships with peers and adult leaders, helping them feel valued as active members of the body of Christ

Worship Training:

Junior Sunday School trains children in prayer, singing hymns, and understanding church traditions, often preparing them for later milestones like Confirmation

Mission & Outreach:

Programs frequently engage children in age-appropriate service projects to instill a desire to serve their local and global communities
